Step 1: Formal notice to the community
Before installing, you must notify the owners' community in writing (usually through the property manager) of your intention to install a charging point in your garage space.
Step 2: Technical study of the installation
It is assessed whether an individual installation from your own meter is viable or whether a shared infrastructure that distributes the power among several neighbours is preferable. This depends on the current electrical installation of the garage.
Step 3: Can the community refuse?
Horizontal property regulations facilitate this type of installation: the community can only object if it proves it is technically unviable, not out of simple disagreement. For individual installations in your own space, it is usually not necessary to wait for a vote at a meeting.
Step 4: Installation and legalisation
Once notified and studied, the charger is installed and the corresponding electrical certificate is issued, if the power requires it.
